This week our superstar was chosen for working hard, persevering and making progress 🌟

Superstars (this week and last week)

 

This was last week's superstar who was our first pupil to become superstar twice in 1G! This is because he is always very sensible and works well in class!

 

This week, the superstar is an improved reader and has shown great decoding skills recently. Keep it up! 👍🏻🌟

Design Technology ✂️✏️🎨

Today the children began their design Technology topic where they will be planning and designing an exciting and useful structure to bring home at Easter. The first step was to investigate the best way to attach a cardboard tube to a base - they worked in teams testing various attachments methods such as PVA, glue stick, cellotape, masking tape, hot glue gun and blue tack This is what they found out!  

 

When we make our designs, we now know which attachment methods we are going to use to make our structures sturdy and strong. Next we will investigate which material is best to use for our base - watch this space for our results!

Bookweek 2017! 📚📚📚

This book-week has been a huge success - it has been lovely seeing the children get excited and enjoying various books and stories! The costume efforts today were amazing so thank you to parents and adults who helped! Here are some photos from our week!

Book week quiz and scavenger hunt!

Today we completed a book quiz in pairs and played for the exciting prize of a biscuit! 🍪

Then the children did a scavenger hunt by searching through all of our classroom books (and boy do we have a lot!) to find things such as elephants, happy endings, villains or honey 🍯 

They worked well in teams and enjoyed delving into books and having the opportunity to see the wide range we have on offer 📚

Superstar of the week 🌟

This week our superstar is trying really hard in his maths and literacy. He is working on improving his presentation and letter formation and is always putting his hand up keen to answer questions in maths. Good work! 👍🏻
