Art Sculpture homework

A big well done to all the children who brought in their amazing animal sculptures last week - I was blown away by the quality and attention to details you all showed. They were made using a range of materials which gave them good textures that almost look life-like! (One even has real snake skin on it!) Also a huge thank you to the parents who supported their children with their homework - I hope you enjoyed getting creative with your children. Here are some of the masterpieces produced :

Which sculpture is your favourite? Remember don't mention children's names, just tell us the animal and describe it from the picture.

We visited the Antarctica without leaving our school!

On Friday, Google expeditions came to our school to show us how we can use this amazing app to explore parts of our world we could only dream of visiting on a school trip! We used the hand held devices to view real aerial photographs of the Antarctica and as we moved the device around, it showed us a 360 degree view and we could zoom in and out. The children really enjoyed this lesson as you can see from the pictures below 🌍😁

Can you remember what you could see children? Comment below to tell everyone

Creating sculptures

P
In art, we have been looking at the sculpture artist Andy Goldsworthy. He uses natural materials in his designs. We have been using natural materials to recreate some of his work both indoors and outdoors. Look at what the children made. They worked very well in teams and enjoyed this activity 😁🍂🍁

These are images of Andy Goldsworthy's art that we used as inspiration:

If you would like to recreate anything similar at home, please post your pictures below in the comments section, I would love to see them 😊

Superstar of the week 🌟

This Superstar is a keen learner and listens carefully, absorbing lots of facts and information and in turn, shares his good ideas. His creativity shone through in PE this week when his polar bear dance moves stood out as being accurate and original!  👍🏻
